FAQs
What is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Like the name implies, traditional pressure washing relies on high-pressure water flow to do the cleaning. Soft washing on the other hand relies on chemicals and high-volume, low pressure water to do the cleaning.
How often should I soft-wash my home or office building?
We usually recommend staying ahead of organic growth on buildings by soft washing yearly, roofs typically require a wash every three years in order to maintain warranty, and specialty surfaces like fencing or awnings are usually fine to be treated as needed. We’d be more than happy to talk through the specifics of each surface and our recommendation during your free onsite assessment!
Can you use soft washing and pressure washing techniques on the same surfaces?
Great question… And the answer is that typically, this is exactly how it’s done! There are some surfaces where we won’t blend approaches but we do blend techniques often in order to achieve the best result for our clients!
When is soft-washing a bad idea?
We think soft washing is always a great idea, but there are times where it may not make the most sense - like on driveways and sidewalks for example. There are some surfaces where good ole pressure cleaning takes the prize, but we tend to use a mix of approaches in order to deliver the best cleaning results to our clients.
What chemicals do you use when soft washing?
It really depends! Our standard cleaning chemical is sodium hypochlorite but we use a variety of surfactants and specialty chemicals such as degreasers, oxidation removers, and rust treatments depending on the needs of the job.
Can Wiley’s help me determine what I need?
You bet! When we come onsite to perform our assessment, we’ll discuss your cleaning options and give you our recommendations as to what it’ll take to get your property looking its very best.
